Our programmes
Russian lessons follow the Khamraeva and Samatova methods and are adapted to each child's age and level. We work on grammar, spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure and accurate written and spoken Russian.
Children learn to read with understanding, follow the meaning of a text, retell it, express an opinion and speak in confident, connected sentences. We talk a great deal about what we've read and work on vocabulary, pronunciation and comprehension.
Drama lessons are led by an experienced director and professional actor, under the guidance of a well-known theatre director. Through stage speech, improvisation, character work and full productions, children develop confidence, stage presence, diction, memory and the ability to express themselves freely in Russian.
In science lessons children explore physical and chemical phenomena through experiments and hands-on observation. A special part of the programme is the science show with Professor Nikolya's experiments. Children learn to investigate, ask questions, draw their own conclusions and discover the wonders of science for themselves.
Creative lessons include drawing, painting, clay modelling, mosaic, collage, work with a wide range of materials and decorative arts. Children explore different artistic techniques, develop their imagination and fine motor skills, and create projects of their own.
Maths at our school is about more than sums and exercises. We develop logical and spatial thinking, attention, memory and the ability to reason, moving gradually from playful tasks to more advanced maths as the child grows.
Chess helps children develop logic, concentration, strategic thinking and the ability to plan several moves ahead. Lessons suit complete beginners as well as children who already know the rules.
In robotics lessons children explore the basics of construction, engineering thinking, algorithms and programming. They build their own models, experiment and learn to find solutions through hands-on projects.
