Robotics for children, taught in Russian

In robotics lessons children discover the world of technology, construction and programming. They don't simply assemble models from instructions — they learn how mechanisms work, why they move and how to make a robot carry out the commands they want. Lessons take place at First Russian School in Kensington and Chelsea, next to Sloane Square station.

From idea to working robot

Every lesson combines building with practical programming.

Children assemble models, connect components, set algorithms, check the result and work out the solution themselves when a mechanism doesn't behave as intended.

Building engineering thinking

Robotics teaches children to analyse, plan, experiment and not be afraid of mistakes. They learn that a failed attempt is part of the process: a design can be changed, a program can be fixed, and a solution can always be made better.

Creating their own projects

As their skills grow, children move from simple builds to more interesting and demanding projects, where they have to work out the design and the principle behind it themselves.
